SVR 2000 TuboNet Works but Have Interference

My Sony SVR 2000 is updating through a TurboNet card fine but is causing two problems on my network. The router port LED is blinking at a high rate and I am getting interference on my lower tv channels 2-6 whenever the ethernet cable is plugged in. Since TurboNet and Tivo work correctly otherwise I am not sure where else to turn at this point.

Has anyone ever seen this before when the Tivo and the TurboNet operate in a completely normal way otherwise?

I don't have a hub so I have not been able to sniff the port on the router which I am using as a switch.

I'd double-check to ensure its installed properly; ensure that the card is on ALL the way (take the foot off your unit so that the board snaps on properly).

Beyond that, check cables and connections, etc.

There is no good reason you should be having problems with interference that are related to the TurboNet card; these cards have been around for over 5 years and there are probably thousands of them installed. I've yet to hear of a problem like this - so best to try to isolate things by eliminating variables and you'll likely find the problem...

I appreciate the response. I did as you said and reseated the card, tried different cables directly to the TurboNet all to no avail. I still get herringbone on a diagonal interference on the lower channels. I also noticed that depending on where the cable is in the unit, the interference can be improved or made worse, but never entirely eliminated. This seems almost like a grounding or attenuation issue of some sort.

To avoid the interference I am now unplugging the cable into the router and forcing an update every so often to catch up. Annoying to say the least.

Any other thoughts?
